Description
Great hearty soup for fall or winter. We make this and for two of us have three meals. This freezes well and goes great with a crusty loaf of bread.
Ingredients

- 1 1/2 lb. lean ground beef
- 1 onion (medium, finely chopped)
- 28 oz. diced tomatoes (can of)
- 2 cups water
- 30 oz. broth
- 10 oz. tomato soup
- 4 carrots (finely chopped)
- 1 bay leaf
- 3 sticks celery (finely chopped)
- pepper (to taste)
- 1/2 cup barley

Directions
- Brown meat and onion. Drain well.
- Combine all ingredients in a large pot. Simmer covered for at least 2 hours or all day.
