I used real diced onions and minced garlic for flavor, chopped the kale and mushrooms into 1/4 inch segments, and omitted most of the hot peppery spices, drizzled a little olive oil on top of the kale when I first added it to the pan. Served it over wide egg noodles. Delicious! Some at our table opted to add sour cream or grated Parmesan.
