I made homemade jam with fresh concords for these bars. Delicious is an understatement.
I used two less tablespoons of butter than called for, but I do bake with good butter.
The bars came out soft, with just enough firmness. I started mixing with my kitchenaid, but the mix wasn’t coming together. Working the mix with my hands was way more effective.
I under-baked them because I was worried they’d dry out, but they needed about 3-5 more minutes to get a bit more brown. If I was gifting them, I’d be sure to bake them a bit longer.
This recipe was easy to whip up and really good! I’ll be making these again!
