Delicious, just like my wife’s grandmother used to make on Christmas Eve. We have never had the recipe, it’s one of those recipes handed down by word of mouth and the last one to receive this oral tradition is my mother-in-law, who after years of making it by memory, when my wife asked her to show her how to make it, seems to have forgotten the recipe. So I got on Yum and found this recipe for Granmdma’s Oyster Soup. Viola! The basics are there, whole milk, butter, oysters, salt and pepper.
Not to be detered, we followed the recipe and then added in Celery Salt, Celery Stalks the two ingredients Maddie (my wife’s grandmother) added in. Based on initial taste tests were very promising. It is best the longer it simmers.
