- 1.5 kilograms mutton (I used Goat leg)
- 2 tsp. salt
- 2 tsp. ginger (garlic paste, ginger garlic paste recipe)
- 2 onions (medium, chopped fine)
- 10 dried red chilies (I used byadgi chilies)
- 1 cup coconut (desiccated)
- 1/2 tsp. turmeric
- 1/2 tsp. cumin seeds
- 3/4 tsp. peppercorn
- 1/2 tsp. caraway seeds
- 2 tsp. poppy seeds
- 3 Tbsp. coriander seeds
- 2 inches canela
- 10 cloves
- 1 star anise
- 2 pieces mace
- 5 cardamom
- 7 garlic cloves
- 1 tsp. coconut oil (for roasting)
- 1 onion (medium, chopped fine)
- 12 small potatoes (cut in half)
- 1 1/2 inches tamarind (ball, soak in 1/2 cup hot water to extract pulp)
- oil (for frying sauteing)
- salt (to taste)
- 1/2 tsp. sugar
