- 200 grams gluten free plain flour (mix, i used Doves)
- 100 grams besan (chickpea flour)
- 150 grams vegetable shortening (I used Crisp N Dry)
- 1 pinch salt
- 2/3 cup water
- 1 cup oats
- 1 cup lentils (cooked, I used a mixture of red and yellow, strained)
- 1 onion (large, chopped finely)
- 1 can pinto beans (Keep the bean juice from the can! Aquafaba will be used!)
- 2 Tbsp. water (aquafaba, bean, – see above)
- 2 Tbsp. nutritional yeast (optional)
- 1 tsp. smoked paprika
- 1 tsp. ground cumin
- 1 pinch salt (and pepper to season)
- 1 pinch xanthan gum (optional but creates a firmer texture)
- 1 handful fresh herbs (I used rosemary and thyme, but oregano would be nice!)
