- 1 tsp. soda (bicarb, dissolved in 1 tablespoon of hot water)
- 2 cups plain flour
- 1 1/2 cups self raising flour
- 1 cup chopped walnuts
- flaked almonds (or Slivered, to sprinkle on top of cake)
- 3 Tbsp. sherry (to pour over cake)
