- 1/2 tsp. ground cardamom
- 1/2 tsp. ground cinnamon
- 1/4 tsp. ground black pepper
- 3/8 tsp. fine sea salt
- 1/2 tsp. baking powder
- 1 cup coconut oil (unrefined, melted and warm to the touch)
- 1 cup molasses (unsulphured)
- 3/4 cup light brown sugar (packed, break up any clumps)
- 1/2 cup apple sauce (unsweetened, room temperature)
- 6.8 oz. ginger beer (scant one cup,, I like Fever-Tree)
- 1 1/2 tsp. baking soda
- 2 Tbsp. fresh ginger (minced or microplaned, adjust to taste)
