- 8 slices beef (top or bottom round, OR 8 boneless pork sirloin steaks)
- 2 slices gluten (free bacon, depending on size of bacon and beef slices)
- 1 tsp. gluten
- mustard
- 1 slice dill pickle (Use the “Stackers” that come pre-sliced. I like bread and butter pickles, as they are not so vinegary, but Cains were the only gluten-free bread and butter pickle “chips” that I could find locally. Dill pickles are not noticeable once cooked.)
- onion (Finely chopped raw, optional)
- 2 Tbsp. oil (or butter)
- 1 onion (large, peeled, quartered and sliced)
- 1 lb. carrots (peeled and cut in chunks)
- beef (version, 4 cups, 32 fl. oz., 1 l. low sodium gluten-free beef broth)
- 12 oz. gluten
- hard apple cider
- chicken stock
- pork
- pepper
- smoked paprika
- salt
- mustard
- pickles
- stock
- 2 Tbsp. cornstarch (mixed with 2 Tbsp. water)
