This is going to make a huge batch of Spaetzle, so invite your friends over to help you eat it. It is bland so decide how you are going to serve it before you start: fried in butter? Mac & Cheese? Soup? Stew? Topped with bacon and mushroons?
This is going to be tedious so be sure to use a large flat grater or a spaetzle maker. I used the flat grater. It still annoyed me yet nothing compares to homemade for taste. It was worth it.
