Description
A great salad dressing is a game changer because it can take even the simplest greens to a whole new level. This one is light and fresh and full of citrus, with just enough toasted sesame and soy sauce to keep things interesting. Enjoy the dressing on tossed green salads and grain salads such as farro with roasted vegetables. Keep it in mind as a marinade for grilled vegetables, too. If you want to make the dressing ahead, it keeps in the refrigerator up to a week. The recipe, which makes about 1 cup, is a Yummly original created by Kate McMillan.
Ingredients
- 1 piece fresh ginger (1 inch)
- 1 clove garlic (peeled)
- lime zest (from 1 lime)
- 1/4 cup fresh lime juice (from about 2 limes)
- 2 Tbsp. toasted sesame oil
- 1 Tbsp. soy sauce
- 2 tsp. honey
- 3/4 tsp. kosher salt
- 1/4 tsp. black pepper
- 1/2 cup canola oil (or other neutral oil such as vegetable or grapeseed)
Directions
- Peel ginger and coarsely chop. Add ginger, garlic, lime zest and juice, sesame oil, soy sauce, honey, salt, and pepper to a blender. Cover and whirl until ginger and garlic are finely chopped, stopping to scrape down the container if needed.
- With the motor running, slowly add oil in a steady stream through the opening in the blender lid and blend until emulsified.
- Use the dressing right away with your favorite salad ingredients, or chill it airtight up to 1 week, then stir before using.
