These muffins turned out absolutely delicious. Note for anyone who might be making these: When I mixed my softened butter into the mixture with the cold buttermilk, the butter clumped up and made it very laboring to get back to a smooth texture. I would recommend using melted butter or buttermilk at room temperature. Also, they don’t mention in the directions, but once you have all the ingredients mixed in except the cherries and chocolate, if you’re using a stand mixer, I would suggest hand mixing in the cherries. I used my stand mixer to mix in my cherries and all the cherry juice turned my muffins blue. They were at peak ripeness so they were very juicy! If you don’t mind blue muffins the stand mixer is still fine of course. Overall these were super yummy though!

These muffins were absolutely delicious and super easy to prepare. I had all the ingredients on hand except I used dark chocolate chunks instead of the chips. They were a big hit. Try it you'll love it.
