- 1 kg fish (cut into 2- to 4- inch pieces)
- 1/4 tsp. salt
- 1 tsp. turmeric powder
- 150 grams coconut (or 1/2 big coconut cut into small thin pieces or grated)
- 4 medium tomatoes (350 g)
- 5 Tbsp. sesame oil
- 1/2 tsp. fenugreek seeds
- 280 grams onions (chopped, 1 big or 2 medium onions; you can even use shallots)
- 30 curry leaves
- 4 green chillies (or 2 small chillies slit lengthwise and deseeded, if you don’t have green chillies, increase the red chilly powder by 1/2 a teaspoon)
- 4 Tbsp. ginger garlic paste
- 1 tsp. red chilly powder
- 7 tsp. coriander powder
- 1 tamarind
- 2 cms hot water
- 3/4 tsp. fenugreek (powder)
- 3/4 tsp. cumin powder
- 1 cup fronds (coriander, finely chopped and tightly packed)
