- 1 stick butter
- 2 white onions (large)
- 2 green peppers (large)
- 1 1/2 lb. ground beef
- 1 1/2 lb. hot Italian sausage
- 1 pkg. chili powder (approx. 2.5 oz)
- 1 1/2 Tbsp. paprika
- 1 Tbsp. cumin
- 1 tsp. sweet basil
- 1 1/2 tsp. oregano
- 3 salt (teaspons)
- 1 Tbsp. sugar
- 32 oz. diced tomatoes
- 2 cans chili beans (w/sauce)
- 1 btl. tomato juice
- 14 oz. ketchup (bottle of)
- hot sauce (to taste)
- 1 can mushrooms (optional)

Directions
- Saute onion and pepper in butter until soft and translucent in large pot.
- In another pot brown meats, drain, and set aside.
- Mix remaining ingredients with onions and peppers in large pot.
- Add meat and bring to a boil. Reduce heat and cook until desired thickness.
- Season with additional cumin and paprika to taste.
