- 1/2 cup almond flour
- 1 tsp. cardamom powder
- 2 1/2 tsp. baking powder
- 3/4 tsp. salt
- 2 sticks unsalted butter (at room temperature)
- 1 cup granulated sugar
- 4 eggs (at room temperature)
- 1 cup whole milk (at room temperature)
- 2 tsp. vanilla extract (or 1 ½ tsp vanilla bean paste)
- 1/2 cup fig jam (warmed, warmed so that it is a bit viscous in flow)

- 1 stick unsalted butter (at room temperature)
- 3 oz. goat cheese
- 8 oz. mascarpone cheese
- 5 cups confectioner’s sugar
- 1 tsp. vanilla bean paste
- 2 Tbsp. rosewater
- 1 lb. black mission figs (sliced thin evenly)
- 1 lb. figs (tiger, sliced thin evenly)
- 1/3 cup pistachios (coarsely chopped, remove from freshly from the shell for the brightest color)
- 2 Tbsp. rose petals (dried)
- honey (for drizzle)
