  • 1/3 cup sour cream (lite is okay, plain Greek yogurt may be substituted)
  • 3 tablespoons canola oil
  • 2 teaspoons McCormick Pure Vanilla Extract
  • 1/2 cup unsalted butter (softened)
  • 2 teaspoons McCormick Pure Vanilla Extract
  • 1 pinch salt (optional and to taste, helps offset the sweetness)
  • 2 cups sugar (confectioners’, I use 2 cups)
  • 4 red food coloring (+ drops McCormick, or as necessary to achieve desired color)

    Followed the directions exactly. The frosting came out well and tasted great, but the cake just wasnt good.
