- 1/2 cup buttermilk
- 1/3 cup sour cream (lite is okay, plain Greek yogurt may be substituted)
- 3 Tbsp. canola oil
- 2 tsp. McCormick Pure Vanilla Extract
- 1/2 cup unsalted butter (softened)
- 2 tsp. McCormick Pure Vanilla Extract
- 1 pinch salt (optional and to taste, helps offset the sweetness)
- 2 cups sugar (confectioners’, I use 2 cups)
- 4 red food coloring (+ drops McCormick, or as necessary to achieve desired color)

Followed the directions exactly. The frosting came out well and tasted great, but the cake just wasnt good.
