- freshly ground black pepper
- 1 Tbsp. canola oil

- 3/4 cup store bought low sodium chicken stock (or homemade)
- 1 1/2 tsp. powdered gelatin (see note)
- 4 oz. morel mushrooms (cleaned, trimmed, and split in half lengthwise)

- 1 tsp. soy sauce
- 2 Tbsp. fresh chives (minced)
