I used dark chocolate to take a bit of the edge off the sweet, but it is wonderful- I'll never use another hot fudge recipe again. I made homemade ice cream, and after the sauce had cooled but before the ice cream had completely set, I swirled some of the sauce through it. After putting it back in the freezer to finish serio get it I pulled it out for dessert the next evening and I'll just say- A M A Z I N G!! It wasn't runny but it wasn't hard or chewy either- it stayed silky and perfect!
