- 2 Tbsp. ginger garlic paste (: 1 inch ginger, 6 cloves garlic)
- 14 oz. diced tomatoes (1 can or 3-4 ripe roma tomatoes, pureed)
- 1 tsp. salt
- 1/2 tsp. turmeric powder
- 1/2 tsp. Kashmiri red chili powder
- 2 tsp. paprika (regular)
- 3 tsp. Garam Masala (depending on your spice preferences)
- 1 Tbsp. coriander powder
- 3/4 cup water (divided., See notes)
- 1 1/2 cups basmati rice (rinsed and soaked)
- 1 3/4 cups water
- 1/2 tsp. salt
- 1 tsp. olive oil (or ghee)
- 2 Tbsp. slivered almonds (optional)
- 1/2 tsp. saffron (soaked in 1 tablespoon hot water)
- 1/2 cup heavy whipping cream (OR, Full-Fat Coconut milk for dairy Free option)
- 1 tsp. honey (or sugar optional)
- 3 Tbsp. fresh chopped cilantro
