This has become one of my go-to quick and easy desserts, especially since I always have the ingredients on hand. Just don't melt the butter completely! It ruins the final product.

Next time I want to pig out I'm making this. Better than anything I can get at the store! So yummy!!

Absolutely decadent! Imagine the taste of buttery shortbread with the texture of a soft, dense brownie. It's also insanely easy to make!
One suggestion:
Cover tightly anything not getting eaten right away. The the only reason this recipe doesn't get 5 stars is not due to the food itself (it's dessert perfection), but that the recipe doesn't warn that if left uncovered it dries into a crumbly brick in a very short time (within a couple hours).

So easy to make. Yummy goodness ! The trick is to get very good butter too ! I tried making another one and put in lemon extract and it tasted great too !

Superb recipe and easy.
I did however double it and baked it in a sprayed 9x8 Pyrex brownie dish about 8 minutes longer. Also added pecan pieces and a 1/4 teaspoon of almond extract. Wow! Around here the batch was gone in an hour.
To me this now tastes like Pecan Sandies are supposed to but with a fudgy brownie-like texture.
This original recipe will adapt to almost anything you like. Fruit, nuts, chocolate bits, raisins, butterscotch or Reese's Pieces, M&Ms, you name it. It's a keeper.
Thank You!

Very yummy! My hubby and three year old loved it. I served it with French vanilla ice cream. My hubby had three servings.

So delicious! Tastes kind of like a soft and chewy sugar cookie, and was amazing with some fruit on top! Will definitely bake again :)
