- 3 cloves garlic (smashed and cut in half)

- 3 Roma tomatoes (very large, or 6 smaller ones makes 2 cups once blended)
- 1/4 ground cumin (tspn)

- 1/2 turmeric (tspn)
- 3 green chillies (or less)
- 2 chilli powder (tspn kashmiri)
- 1 Tbsp. masala
- 2 tomato paste (tspn)
- 1 tamarind (tspn, you can add more)
- 1/4 cup hot water
- 2 sugar (tspn, or honey)
- salt
- coriander (for garnishing, optional)
