  • 60 ounces tomato sauce
  • 2 cans diced tomatoes
  • 1 can black beans
  • 1 can pinto beans
  • 1 can kidney beans
  • 2 cans corn
  • 1 tablespoon brown sugar
  • 1/4 cup beer (or hard cider)
  • 1 green bell pepper (large)
  • 1 vidalia onion (large)
  • 7 cloves garlic (fresh)
  • 3 pounds ground beef
  • 4 teaspoons sugar
  • 3 tablespoons chili powder
  • 2 tablespoons garlic powder
  • 2 tablespoons onion powder
  • cayenne pepper (2 Tbsp red)
  • 4 teaspoons cumin
  • 2 teaspoons basil

    Directions

    1. Brown ground beef in the bottom of a large stock pot.. Remove excess fat when done.
    2. Chop onion, pepper, and garlic while the meat is browning. Add to pot and saute until the onions are translucent.
    3. Add tomato sauce, diced tomatoes, black beans, pinto beans, kidney beans, corn, brown sugar, and beer/cider. Stir well.
    4. Add the spice mixture to the pot and bring to a boil.
    5. Reduce to low and simmer for 7-8 hours.
