- 1/2 cup sugar
- 1/2 cup brown sugar (packed)
- 1/2 Tbsp. instant coffee (optional)
- 3/4 cup milk
- 3 tsp. vanilla extract
- 4 large eggs
- 5/8 cup cocoa (I usually use organic cacao or dutch processed cocoa)
- 2 tsp. baking powder
- 1/4 tsp. sea salt
- 1 1/2 cups all-purpose flour (unbleached)
- 1/2 cup bittersweet chocolate chips
- muffin (paper, liners)
- olive oil spray
- powdered sugar (if making shapes atop cupcakes., optional)
- 8 oz. cream cheese (softened)
- 8 oz. softened butter (room temperature, not melted)
- 1 tsp. vanilla extract
- 1 pinch salt
- 1/2 cup frozen cherries (thawed and liquid well squeezed out)
- 2 cupcake (standard sized, pans)
- 18 muffin (paper, liners)
- 1 pie (pan, preferable glass, but other ok.)
- powdered sugar (Sifter for)
- 1/2 inch cookie (cutter shapes of choice, I used a heart, "x" and "o" for these in recipe pictures.)
