- 50 grams onion (1 medium, thinly sliced or ⅓ cup heaped sliced onions)
- 65 grams tomatoes (1 medium tomatoes or ⅓ cup chopped tomatoes)
- 2 green chilies (sliced, slit or chopped)
- 1/2 tsp. turmeric powder
- 1/2 tsp. chilli powder
- 1 pinch asafoetida
- 2 cups water (for pressure cooking)
- 1 cup water (added later, add as required depending on the consistency you want)
- salt (as required)
- 2 Tbsp. coriander leaves (chopped)
- 2 Tbsp. ghee (or oil)
- 1 tsp. mustard seeds (/rai)
- 1 tsp. cumin seeds (/jeera)
- 5 garlic cloves (medium, sliced or chopped or crushed lightly with their peels on)
- 1 sprig curry leaf (or 9 to 10 curry leaves/kadi patta)
- 2 dry red chilies (broken and deseeded)
