- 1 cup unsweetened applesauce (smooth)
- 1/2 cup sugar (plus 1 tablespoon for sprinkling)
- 1/2 cup light brown sugar (packed)
- 2 large eggs
- 1/4 cup canola oil
- 1/4 cup plain yogurt (I always just use vanilla!)
- 1 tsp. vanilla extract
- 2 cups flour
- 1 tsp. baking powder
- 1/2 tsp. baking soda
- 3/4 tsp. salt
- 1/2 tsp. canela
- 1/8 tsp. nutmeg
- 1 cup diced apple (peeled, cored, and finely, I use 1 medium sized apple- Pink lady is awesome, but any full flavored, tart apple is good!)
- 1/2 cup chopped walnuts
