- 1/2 cup corn starch
- 1 Tbsp. garlic powder (EACH paprika, onion powder, cayenne pepper, for spicy)
- 1 tsp. salt (EACH, & pepper)
- 1/2 cup mayo
- 1 tsp. hot sauce
- 1 tsp. paprika (or cajun or taco seasoning)
- 1/2 tsp. garlic powder
- 4 brioche buns (medium-sized)
- mayonnaise
- pickles (Sliced)
- 4 cups canola oil (for frying)

Very good! Crisp and tasted just like Popeye’s (at least when they first came out) Been disappointed at the restaurant lately but this turned out very tasty!

It’s a keeper. My daughters liked it so much, they changed the name from Popoyes chicken sandwich to Papa’s chicken sandwich. Thanks for sharing the recipe!

It was soooo good! I definitely recommend it :) we did something a little different and added 2 eggs to the batter and it made it even better- it was BUSSIN

It was extremely Delicious, the wife and I made some after watch the queens gambit which was very good I must say, it’s on Netflix if you’re interested, anyways the chicken was bussin but I should’ve used a thinner piece of chicken tho because I was choking, also make sure you have a bev because the bread will dry out your throat , peace and love 💙 woo back baby

So delicious! I added marjoram flakes to the marinade. My husband had his with Buffalo and ranch sauce, and I used no sauce just pickles and lettuce. Very nice crust.

These were very good. My oil was a little too hot and burned a little the very first piece I dropped in. My advice to anybody else making this is to test the oil with a small piece of chicken and see if it’s too hot. Other than that, we liked it :)

So delicious! My family loved them. Will be making them a second time today except I will be making the chicken a bit thinner. First time was too thick and took longer to fry, a lil burned but still yummy.

Turned out super delicious only thing I will do differently next time is flatten out the breast a little more other than that it was perfect

My boyfriend said this is the best thing I’ve made in months! (not sure if it’s a compliment tbh...). We thought these were delicious. We didn’t have canola oil but avocado oil worked perfectly, this made four sandwiches and we were 100% full after one so we will half the recipe in the future. The mayo wasn’t very spicy but we liked it that way. Overall awesome recipe!!

Delicious!! My entire family enjoyed it. I coated the chicken in the spices almost like a rub, covered it in plastic wrap, and placed it in the fridge for 8 hours. I did not have hot sauce so I added cayenne pepper to the flour and cornstarch mixture. The chicken came out a nice golden brown, very tender and moist inside. Can not wait to make this again!

Family enjoyed it as much as Popeye’s. Said it was different but AWESOME! They are not shy to tell me when a recipe is not good. I cooked in an electric skillet to maintain the correct oil temp.
