  • 1/4 cup unsalted butter (softened)
  • 1/4 cup yellow mustard (or to taste)
  • 1 pound ham (sliced)
  • 1 pound roasted pork (sliced)
  • 8 ounces swiss cheese (sliced)
  • 2 dill pickles (sliced lengthwise)

    Whew, I've never put so much work into a sandwich! Buttering a whole sandwich when its already together isn't easy. Also, I used the skillet method, and quickly found (after scorching the first one) that attaining a heat balance for the cast iron skillet is an art; since the sandwich is wrapped in foil, difficult to judge. The instructions dont give a time range for this method of cooking. I couldn't find cuban bread, so used a thick but light and fluffy Italian loaf. All in all, turned out well. The boys really enjoyed them, so the effort was worth it.

    The Cuban is one of my favorite sandwhiches! The ingredients and instructions were great and didnt dissapppoint. Highly recommend!
