I tried in the slow cooker but even after 4.5 hours on hi the potatoes were not cooked soft enough for me. I had to finish off in the oven. I changed the paper towels as soon as they were wet, and kept doing this and it certainly helped keep the potatoes from getting soggy. I did grate my own old yellow cheddar and the sauce was not greasy at all and is a tip i continue to use. so thanks for that.. I added about 5 large cloves of garlic to the sauce as we like garlic. We liked the potatoes but i would cook in the oven in a shallow pan so all potatoes cook evenly and in a shorter time frame. Good recipie.
