- 2 cups milk
- 1/2 cup diced onion
- 1/2 cup diced celery
- 1/3 cup carrots (diced, see notes)
- 1 1/2 cups instant rice
- 1 cup shredded sharp cheddar cheese (finely)
- 1 lb. chicken (cubed uncooked, i used white meat but you could use cubed skinless boneless chicken thigh meat)
- 1/2 cup peas
- ground black pepper (unchecked▢, to taste)
