- 1 cake mix (devil’s food, not prepared)
- 1/2 cup butter (cut into pats, You may use a little more or a little less depending on how your pats come out. You want enough thin pats to cover your entire dump cake.)

Hmm I really wanted to like this because... I mean cherries and chocolate. Unfortunately this fell very short for me. After the 2 hours I went to turn the crockpot off and marvel at the deliciousness that awaited me but what I found was that much of the cake mix was still in powder form. I had to stir some, add more butter/liquid and continue to cook for awhile. All of the components are good in theory but this just did not come together for me and I totally did not get the purpose served by the pop tarts.
