Everyone loved the frosting. I used 5 cups of confection sugar instead of 7 and still tasted great. The purple is a different frosting.

This was amazing cream cheese frosting. I did play around with 10x sugar. Only used 1 cup and was sweet enough. I added small amounts so powered sugar (10x) would not fly all over the place. Last time I dumped the 10X directly into the bowl....it was a sugar cloud mess.
I also didn’t like the texture of the frosting... I did add 2 Table spoon of heavy cream ... I know extra calories. If worried about calories just don’t even bother making this delicious gluttony!
I used a simple white cake mix and used coconut/almond milk instead of water. I also added sweetened coconut, crushed nuts (no peanuts) and dried cranberries, pineapples, and apricots. Essentially trail mix....fiber! I suggest to add the delightful bits after you pour your batter into the cake pan of your choice. It will required longer cooking time depending on your oven and altitude. I cooled the cake overnight before adding frosting.
The frosting glided over the top of the cake. I added coconut to the top and pecans or pecons depending what your comfortable saying... grin.
Welp it was truly a rich and indulgent dessert. I recommend an iced latte coffee to complete this family weekend evening meal!

this recipe is sooo yummy and easy to add other flavors to. The sugar is too much thou and makes it overly sweet. I mix my butter and cream cheese together first and slowly add in the sugar until it is the right sweetness. First time, I followed the recipe, 2nd time I added a little almond extract. 3rd, left out vanilla and replaced with lemon extract. And just made some with just the butter, sugar and cream cheese. All of them have tasted amazing.

Simple, sweet & cream cheesy! HINT: Omit the Vanilla if you want different colours of frosting. The brown vanilla dulls the colouring a little. I guess you could use a clear vanilla alternative!

Delicious and easy! I only used 6 cups of sugar because i didn't want it too sweet. It was perfect.

Great recipe very easy to make. I only needed half of recipe to cover my cake. Sorry about the slice gone. My 12 year Son got to it before I could add icing. Lol.

Too much powered sugar i had to use another 8oz cream cheese and 2 more sticks of butter. The cream cheese flavor wasn't intense enough. This is more like butter cream with a hint of cream cheese flavor.

It was perfect. I would make it again for sure. Make sure that the butter and cheese are soft and blended well and then add sifted powdered sugar.

Simple easy recipe! Let your butter soften a little and I only used 2 cups of sugar instead of 7! I'll be using this again!
