- 1/2 cup unsalted butter (room temp)
- 2 cups all purpose flour
- 1 tsp. baking soda
- 1 tsp. baking powder
- 1/2 tsp. salt
- 1 cup sugar
- 2 eggs
- 2 tsp. vanilla extract
- 1 cup crème fraîche (the book has a recipe for homemade crème fraîche, but I didn't have time to make it and purchased it)
- 2 cups whole berry cranberry sauce (fresh or canned)
- 1/2 cup toasted almonds (chopped, I omitted the almonds)
- 1 cup powdered sugar
- 1/2 tsp. almond extract (pure)
- 1 Tbsp. cranberry juice
- 12 oz. fresh cranberries
- 3/4 cup water
- 2/3 cup brown sugar
- 1/3 cup white sugar
- 1/4 tsp. salt
