  • 4 cups chicken broth
  • 1 1/2 cups milk
  • 1 cup heavy cream
  • 4 cups corn kernels (from 4-5 ears corn reserve cobs for stock)
  • 4 ounces bacon (chopped)
  • 1 onion (large, finely diced, 1 1/2 cup)
  • 1 large carrot (cut into 1/4" dice, 1 cup)
  • 3 stalks celery (finely diced, 1 cup)
  • 1 pound potatoes (Yukon, 3 medium, peeled and cut into 1/4" thick pieces)
  • 3 teaspoons sea salt (or to taste)
  • 1/4 teaspoon black pepper
  • 1/4 teaspoon cayenne pepper (or to taste)
  • 2 tablespoons chives (chopped, to garnish, optional)

    Too hard with the corn cobs so just put in frozen corn. Used blender to make it a chowder/

    This was incredible! I added a can of petite diced tomatoes and extra garlic. 1 1/2 tablespoons of white wine vinegar at the end really brightens the flavor. I’ll definitely be making this again.

    Turned out lovely, however I needed to add a bit more seasoning to it as it was a bit bland. Cumin was necessary as was pimento. But that's just me. The recipe is a great base from which to add your own flair.

    I really enjoyed it. I ended up tossing it in a slow cooker and cut back on the broth and upped some of the spices. Came our fantastic. Will definitely make again!

    Meh. This was ok. Nothing special. I added a few Parmesan rinds and a slurry if corn starch to thicken it and it still lacked flavor and body. I think I would use another recipe next time.

    AMAZING WILL MAKE AGAIN!!! i made a few changes because i got lazy with it. I used 2 cans of corn (drained) and didn't use onions or carrots. I also replaced cayenne pepper with onion powder and threw eveything in the pot at once and cooked the potatoes til soft in the mix. It's still really really good. more of a liquid soupy consistency than thick.

    Made this for the family and it came out great. I did add more carrots, celery and doubled the bacon.

    I make this all the time with my frozen sweet corn it’s the best recipe out there and so simple to make. I recommend extra bacon lots of bacon did I say bacon? :)

    Very flavorful, i blended half of the mixture to make the soup thicker and skipped the heavy cream. Next time will add more potatoes.

    Big fan of the flavor! I ended up using mrs dash chicken seasoning and let it sit in the crock pot all day. i had 4 yukon gold potatoes avalible... definitely could have used more potatoes and carrots! loved it, i usually am picky when it comes to using a whole onion but it really made the flavor of the broth. If you're looking for a home-y warm and easy chowder this recipe will work!

    Perfect! I’m a soup junkie, and usually do my own thing. I woke up today thinking to try a really good recipe for Corn Chowder. Making the stock with corncobs makes all the difference. Thank you Natasha. (PS, my son loves (and we all reap the benefits) when he makes your beef stew)
    This recipe is great, simmering the cobbs in the stock makes it twice as flavorful, and the cayenne pepper adds just the right amount of heat!

    solid run-of-the-mill corn chowder. added some gigner to add interest to the flavor, but everything turned out great. Uncomplicated recipe, basic ingredients, solid outcome.
