Description
In my opinion a Caprese salad is more artistic than functional. This version is for utilitarians like myself and eats more like a meal than a party attraction.

Directions
- Chill the tomatoes,, depending on the strength of your fridge you may want to put them in the freezer for a bit. They just need to be cold and obviously not frozen
- Cut Mozzarella and ham into cubes with the ham cubes being smaller than the Mozzarella cubes. - This is to prevent the ham flavor from being too aggressive. Strips of Ham lunchmeat work very well for this.
- Place Tomatoes, Ham, and Mozzarella into large salad bowl and tear basil leaves into bowl discarding stems. Add balsamic vinegar, olive oil, salt, pepper, and jime juice to taste. I prefer a larger ratio of vinegar to oil and heavy pepper.
- Variations - Lime Basil
