- 1 cup whole milk
- 1/2 cup heavy cream
- 1 tsp. freshly ground black pepper
- 2 tsp. kosher salt (If you use salted butter, cut down on the kosher salt)
- 1/4 tsp. mace (ground)
- 1/4 tsp. ground nutmeg (freshly)
- 7 oz. cheddar (package Kerry Gold Skellig, shredded, or other top-quality sweet cow’s milk cheddar cheese)
