- 1/2 tsp. fine grain salt
- 2/3 cup all purpose flour (sifted)
- 1/3 cup dark cocoa powder
- 6 Tbsp. granulated sugar
- 1 tsp. baking powder
- 1/4 tsp. salt
- 6 Tbsp. buttermilk (at room temperature)
- 1 tsp. vanilla extract
- 1 egg (lightly beaten, room temperature)
- 1 Tbsp. butter (melted)
- 1 Tbsp. milk (plus more to thin if needed)
- 1 tsp. instant espresso powder (or instant coffee)
- 1 cup powdered sugar
