- 1 onion (medium to large, thinly sliced or 1 cup thinly sliced onions)
- 1 green chili
- 1/2 inch ginger
- 3 garlic
- 1/2 cup green peas
- 1/3 cup french beans
- 6 curry leaves (or 1 medium sized tej patta, indian bay leaf)
- 4 cloves (lavang)
- 4 green cardamoms (choti elaichi)
- 1 inch cinnamon (dalchini)
- 1 mace (single strand of, javitri)
- 1/2 tsp. cumin seeds (jeera)
- 3/4 cup coconut milk (thick, or about 200 ml thick coconut milk)
- 1 1/4 cups water
- 2 Tbsp. oil
- 3 coriander leaves (chopped, or mint leaves for garnish, optional)
- salt (as required)
