This was my first Yule log attempt and was shocked it was so successful! I made this over the course of a week for a Friday night Christmas party (while working full time). Made my cake one night, filled it the next then decorated the night before the party. I just wrapped it well in plastic wrap and stored in the fridge every night and it turned out great! Huge hit at the party! The pictures don’t do it justice: it was really pretty. I bought the holly at the grocery store for $3 :) Definitely a winner!

I actually made this as a birthday cake, more like a Chocolate Swiss Roll. The sponge was nice and moist and light. I added 1/4 tsp of Vietnanese cinnamon just to give it that “wow”! The filling was classic whipped cream. The ganache was dense and full of chocolaty goodness! I am storing leftovers in the fridge, and would recommend setting it out 15 minutes before serving. Easily made enough to feed 10.
