- 2 Tbsp. flax seeds (ground, I use golden, for GF version only)
- 250 grams white flour (all purpose, or GF flour mix, I tested this one*)
- 3/4 cup caster sugar (or coconut sugar for unrefined sugar version)
- 1 tsp. baking powder
- 1 tsp. cinnamon
- 1 tsp. ginger
- 1/2 tsp. cardamom (optional)
- 1/2 tsp. fine sea salt
- 1 Orange (large, unwaxed)
- 100 grams hazelnuts (or almonds, chopped roughly)
- 5 stems ginger (balls, in syrup, finely diced)
- 75 mL soy milk
- 50 grams coconut oil (I use the odourless one or vegan butter, melted)
- 60 mL amaretto liqueur (or more plant milk for alcohol-free version)
- 1 1/2 tsp. vanilla extract
- 100 grams vegan chocolate
