- 1 cup shortening (I am betting butter would work just fine)
- 1/2 cup sugar
- 1/2 cup brown sugar (packed)
- 2 eggs
- 1 1/2 tsp. vanilla extract
- 1/2 tsp. flavoring (butter, I added this because I used shortening)
- 2 drops peppermint extract (pure)
- 2 3/4 cups all purpose flour
- 1 tsp. salt
- 1/2 tsp. baking soda
- 1/2 cup candies (crushed peppermint, I used 3 candy canes)

I’m sad to say that these weren’t as AMAZING as I had been expecting. I ended up rolling the dough into balls and flattening them (I waited 4 hours, and the dough was still too soft, and I didn’t feel like waiting any longer :P ). Don’t do what I did! They ended up WAY too thick. The cookies were alright in taste, but I don’t think I’ll attempt them again. :(
