Description
If you love maraschino cherries - you will love this cookie! Dough has cherry juice incorporated with a cherry stuffed with a chocolate baking chip hidden inside, then finished cookie is dipped in your favorite chocolate
Ingredients

- 24 cherries (marachino)
- 1/2 cup butter (softened)
- 3/4 cup brown sugar (packed)
- 1 Tbsp. cherry juice (maraschino)
- 1 tsp. vanilla extract
- 1 1/2 cups all purpose flour
- 1/8 tsp. salt
- 1 cup milk chocolate chips (divided)
- 1/2 tsp. shortening

Directions
- Drain maraschino cherries, reserving the liquid. Pat the cherries with paper towels to remove excess liquid. Insert one milk chocolate chip in each cherry and set aside.
- Cream together butter and brown sugar then add in cherry juice and vanilla extract. Combine dry ingredients and incorporate into the creamed mixture. Cover and refrigerate at least one hour.
- Take a tablespoon of the chilled dough in the palm of your hand and wrap around one of the chocolate-chip-filled maraschino cherries. Place 1 inch apart on an ungreased cookie sheet.
- Bake at 350 degrees for 15 minutes or until lightly browned. Remove to wire racks to cool. When cookies are cool, dip the cookie tops in the microwaved remaining chocolate chips/shortening melted chocolate. Place on wax paper until tops are set.
- Store in an airtight container
