  • 1 cup unsalted butter (at room temperature)
  • 1 cup brown sugar
  • 1 egg (lightly whisked)
  • 1/2 cup self rising flour
  • 35 dark chocolate (buttons)

    Directions

    1. Preheat oven to 350°F. Line 3 large baking trays with parchment paper. Cream butter and sugar. Add egg and beat well. Add flour and 1 tbsp water and stir until combined. Shape into 35 small balls and chill for 30 mins, or until firm.
    2. Distribute chilled balls between prepared trays and bake for 18-20 mins, or until cookies are golden at edges. Immediately press a chocolate button into the center of each hot cookie. Let cool for 5 mins. Serve cookies warm, or cool completely on trays.
