- 1/4 cup almond milk (or other non-dairy milk, slightly more if using dates)

I followed the recipe but used a hand mixer. I did not make the topping. It turned out good. A little too rich for me. Next time I might decrease the cocoa. I used agave nectar, which I don’t eat regularly. I might try maple syrup next time.
