- 2 cups buttermilk
- 2 cups all-purpose flour

- vegetable oil (for frying)
- 1 stick unsalted butter (at room temperature, use salted butter if you can't find salted honey)
- 3 Tbsp. honey (salted, or regular honey if using salted butter)

- 1/4 tsp. vanilla extract (optional)

- 3 large eggs (whites separated from yolks)
- 1 1/2 cups heavy cream
- 113 grams unsalted butter (melted)
- 4 Tbsp. granulated sugar (divided)
- 2 tsp. vanilla extract (optional)
