Description
Kids and adults alike love this one-dish meal of chicken breasts cooked in creamy, from-scratch gravy and topped with perfectly browned tater tots. Based on feedback from recipe reviews, we updated the recipe in May, 2023 to adjust the total cooking time and to use less liquid so the gravy is even thicker and more silky.

this looks exactly like my chicken pot pie recipe (except I add potatoes) but I use a LOT less liquid, like not even half. It looks like it will be soup, is that how it's meant to be??

Great dish. Resembles a chicken pot pie with out the pie! Recipe does not take into account cooking chicken. Also make sure you use a large pot, smaller pots and saucepans will not hold all ingredients.

So, so good. I swapped celery out for chopped mushrooms and used 4 cups of broth instead of 5. Turned out wonderfully.

Really tasty but it overflowed the baking dish, too much broth I think. I cooked for 25 minutes at 425°F and it came out perfect (apart from it overflowing) and the calories are not accurate. More like 350 calories

Agree with other reviews, good crowd pleaser, like a pot pie casserole. Needs MUCH less broth, or less/no sour cream, otherwise you have soup. I also added seasoning to mine, and personally I would add frozen peas after the chicken because I don’t like mushy peas. Great starting point.

Great taste! I think I will use only four cups of chicken broth. I like a little thicker sauce.

Addictive. Need to cook the sauce down more so it can fit in the pan better. Also buy a bigger bag or two of tater tots. Note to self: double it if you dare!

Good. It took a lot longer to prep and about 10 extra minutes to bake. I will make less of the gravy mixture next time and add a few more seasonings.

was fairly good would suggest adding more seasoning and spices to give it more flavor but was very filling

Family Favorite! Very easy to make. Just a heads up the Chicken is to be cooked prior to meal prep didn't catch that during first read but still was a great meal

my family loved it a lot. it has a very chicken pot pie feeling to it without the pie aspect. definitely going to be cooking again in the future.

It was a very yummy meal! Only thing would be that next time I’d add more veggies and maybe a little bit less sour cream

Not sure what happened but it was more like a soup with floating tater tots. It was also a bit bland

This was really good. I made it exactly how the recipe said. It had good flavor and family loved it.

Perfect!!! My family said it was the best dish that I ever made! I added more corn, peas, and I also added Jimmy Deans Maple Sausage to it and it was truly amazing! Thank you so much!

I air-fried the tater tots for a few minutes THEN put them on top of the casserole. They came out perfect and crispy. This recipe is definitely a keeper.
