    This was delish!!! I used a whole rotisserie chicken (YUMMY flavor), and a whole box of chicken broth (4 cups rather than 3). We loved how cozy this soup was - perfect transition to fall! Topped with crema (the squeeze kind from Cub Foods), shredded Mexican cheese, hot sauce, homemade tortilla chip strips, and lime juice. Soooo good!

    My whole family loved it! I seasoned my chicken breasts well (pierced and rubbed on seasoning) before adding to the pot. Also added chipotle chili powder, coriander and extra lime juice and cilantro. Great recipe that is simple to tweak for more or less spice and add or substitute ingredients.

    Sooo good, even with the subs I had to make. I used tomato sauce instead of crushed tomatoes; added half a yellow pepper; added hot sauce, cayenne, and chili flakes in place of the jalapeño; used canned chicken rather than regular breasts (we only had thighs, and I decided canned would be quicker than defrosting); and I used lemon instead of lime. (I definitely recommend adding some extra broth as well so that it’s a little more soupy.) More hot sauce on top and it was AMAZING. Will definitely make again!! (And next time with cilantro, which we didn’t have on hand this time.)

    Was delicious, even my picky daughter liked! I also added half can of great northern beans and left out the corn and added a knorr chicken bouillon cube when sautéing onion and garlic.

    I loved this recipe very tasty! I too added a few extra spices, paprika, cayenne pepper and ground coriander. It was missing one thing I tried it with cheddar cheese and that was the missing ingredient!

    I love chicken tortilla soup and this recipe is quite good. I don't like black beans in my soup, so I omitted them - instead I added a red bell pepper. I didn't have a jalapeno or chili pepper on hand, but did add some more spices (cayenne, paprika, ground coriander) and I used spicy diced tomatoes. I was pleasantly surprised how tender the chicken turned out.

    I doubled the batch and diced up my own tomatoes and added some red peppers and green chilis. Didn't have cilantro on hand, but it turned out delish! I will make it again for sure.

    Made this one time before and making again. Didn’t have crushed tomatoes or rotel so substituted with tomato sauce and added a Chipotle pepper in adobo sauce as family likes spicy. They love it!

    I used bouillon instead of broth, and next time I think I'll add a little extra to make it a bit more flavorful. With cheese and some sour cream (or in my case, plain Greek yogurt), it's delicious.

    This was good but lacked something that I can’t quite put my finger on. I’d make it again, but it needs to be jazzed up somehow. Make sure you have cheese, sour cream, and tortilla strips to put on top!!

    Absolutely beautiful! I added lime leaves, lemongrass and a few more red chillis... (plus cayeene pepper and fresh basil). I also seasoned slighty more with roughly a tablespoon of taco seasoning to boost the mexican flavors. Tip: add a cup of quinoa to the soup the next day while reheating on the stovetop... creates a heartier consistancy with the intensifies flavors!

    Really good I did some changes from black bean to white beans because I don’t like black beans and I add it so cheddar cheese and it came out really good I enjoy it and highly recommended

    I love making soup. This is one of my favorites by far. I made mine with canned pinto beans, canned corn, and left over chicken since that's what I had on hand. It turned out great! I did not make the tortilla crisps either. Used diced onion for a garnish and texture. Just loved it!
