Seliger: "so good! added shredded cheddar cheese before bak…" Read More

  • 2 cups chicken (cooked and shredded)
  • 1 cup sliced carrots
  • 1 cup frozen green peas
  • 1/2 cup celery (sliced)
  • 1/3 cup butter
  • 1/3 cup chopped onion
  • 1/3 cup flour
  • 1/4 teaspoon black pepper
  • 1/4 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 2 cups chicken broth (I used home-made stock, you may want to add salt in with the pepper, the stock had enough flavor that it didn’t need it.)
  • 3/4 cup milk
  • 2 unbaked pie crusts (9 inch)

Perfect! I use a frozen veggie mix and dried chopped onions to speed things up, and it is delicious every time!

I loved this recipe!!!! I didn’t have frozen peas so I added the mixed vegetables with celery and carrots instead and it was soooo good! I would probably double sauce next time or just add a tad bit more to Make it creamy.

We skip the pie crusts, divide the filling between 4 ramekins and top with puff pastry, instead. Bake for 25-30 min. Perfect!!

I made a double batch (12 servings) and the flavor was great. The only thing I would change was instead of 4 pies, I would only do 3.

I have made this a couple times and the flavor is always good. I double up the chicken stock, add more milk and flour. Makes for a more creamy pie. Delicious!!!

Loved this recipe! Super easy and boiling everything in a pot before combining cut baking time by a lot. I forgot to add spices, which is important. Will make again.

Easy recipe. My family likes extra sauce so I do a few layers of sauce. Before the mix goes into the pan and after.
