I didn’t have the pearl onions so used white mushrooms instead which I cooked with the onions. Added some Ethiopian berbere pepper. Came out wonderfully—just the right consistency. Very tasty! Enough for two pies as others have stated. Cooked it all in one casserole.

SO GOOD!! Wife and I made this. First time ever cooking chicken pot pie! Had plenty of leftovers yesterday

Wow. What a great recipe!! I added green beans and garlic and more onion. The texture was delightful and not at all soupy as some pies can be. Very flavorful. My family liked it a lot, and I would make it again! The only thing was a little too much Thyme seasoning for us. I'd back that up to 1TB.

Excellent textures and process. I love garlic which drew me to this recipe. It really altered the flavour away from a great pot pie. Next time I’ll skip the garlic. Good process for the pie tho

I must be a dunce. I made so many mistakes w this recipe. First of all, I attempted to replace the frozen pearl onions with bottled cocktail onions. Don’t do this! Cocktail onions are pickled. (I now know). My store was out of fresh thyme so I used dry… although, I’m not sure there were any negative ramifications from that swap. Also, I tried to include a bottom crust that came in a frozen prepared pie dish. The dish didn’t have enough space for filling and two top/bottom crusts made it it too bread-y. I suppose they call it pot pie for a reason — make it in a pot! I doubled the recipe bc I wanted to make 2 and that was enough filling for 4. And finally, I must have cooked the filling too long bc it was dry. For me, this recipe was a “swing and a miss” but it’s not the recipe’s fault. Unlike me, you have your whole life ahead of you. You can make this dish after learning from my misfortune and create something wonderful. I saw potential in the recipe. I just botched the execution.

This was my first time ever making a pot pie and my first time ever cooking in a cast iron pie pan. I’m very happy with how everything turned out. The sauce to everything else ratio was perfect. It wasn’t too salty. The golden crunch of the crust was great. It was a very delicious pie and there were no leftovers. Will definitely make again.

I loved it! So easy and the whole fam ate it up. I made a few small changes. I added sliced already boiled potatoes, did not add the pearl onions, but did add frozen peas and corn. I didn’t have cream so I used 3.25 % milk. It was delish, will def make again!

It was fantastic, I did individual servings with a puff pastry ontop and served it on mixed greens.

This turned out great! It was a hit with my family and my brother's family. I subbed a few things that I that I had in the fridge. For example I used fresh carrots and celery instead of pearled onions and frozen carrots. I used a gluten free pie crust and gluten free flour and it came out amazing. Great recipe guide if you want to make it your own. Will be making this again. *note, it was enough filling to make 2 pies.

Tasty! I cooked it in the crockpot instead of on the stove but it tasted delicious!

I’ve made this recipe 5-6 times. I usually add either a little less flour or a little more cream to make the filling a bit more runny. Flavor is great, definitely a family favorite

SO GOOD. It's very creamy and delicious. We made it in our 2qt dutch oven, didnt modify the serving size. we ended up using peas, carrots, green beans, and corn. we also put a layer of pie crust on the bottom!

The sauce makes this dish moist compared to other pot pies. In the future i might add even more chicks stock to make it slightly juicy.

Best chicken pot pie I've ever had. I did make two tweaks: instead of frozen pearl onions, I added frozen potatoes. When adding the stock and cream, I also added a 10.5 oz can of cream of mushroom soup. These are some personal preferences, but it turned out splendidly!

I made this for my family and decided to add the egg in the mixture to help thicken so I didn’t have to use as much flour and oil and we all loved it! Definitely will use this recipe again!

Just made this for dinner. How could you not like something with gravy type filling! I tweaked it a bit but basics were perfect.

I’m in chicken pot pie heaven! This recipe is SO delicious I impressed myself! The only thing I did different is a used butter flavored olive oil to cook the onions and then I added in mushrooms as well. I also used a frozen pie crust because I couldn’t find the roll out kind and it was a little messy but worked out!
The ingredients made so much filling I was able to make two pies! Can’t wait to make again :)
