- 2 Tbsp. onion (grated, dried well)
- 1/4 tsp. baking powder (this gives you light and fluffy balls. Add more up to ½ teaspoon for even lighter balls)
- 1/4 tsp. salt (or ⅛ teaspoon if using salted schmaltz)
- 1/8 tsp. pepper
- 1/2 Tbsp. lemon zest
