- 1/2 tsp. salt
- 1 1/2 cups brown sugar (packed)
- 3/4 cup canola oil (or vegetable oil)
- 3/4 cup unsweetened applesauce (not chunky)
- 3/4 cup sauce (jarred caramel dessert, I used Trader Joe’s Fleur de Sel Caramel Sauce)
- 1 Tbsp. vanilla extract
- 3 large eggs (at room temperature)
- 1 1/2 cups buttermilk (at room temperature)
- 1 apple (peeled, cored, and finely diced)
- 3 cups granulated sugar
- 1 1/2 cups buttermilk
- 1 lb. butter (2 oz ounces, divided use)
- 1 tsp. baking soda
- 3/4 tsp. salt
- 3 cups powdered sugar
- 1 tsp. vanilla extract
- 4 apples (mini, mine were about 2 1/2 inches in diameter, smaller is okay)
- 7 oz. caramels (soft)
- 1 1/2 tsp. cream (or water)
